Best Diets to Lose Weight Fast

Losing weight is a problem that more and more people struggle with every year. Being overweight is the cause of many health issues such as diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. There’s always some new diet or program that claims is superiority over all the others, so which ones are truly the best?

Throughout my years of self experimentation in my fitness journey, I have tried many different approaches to losing weight. And to be honest, there’s many different ways to achieve losing weight. Ultimately, losing weight is just operating daily at a caloric deficit. Essentially, burning more calories than you take in. Pretty simple when you think about it, yet there are many ways to achieve this and some are easier than others.

The best diets to lose weight fast in my opinion are either a ketogenic or animal based (carnivore) diet. The reasoning behind this is both of these diets essentially eliminate processed foods, especially carbohydrates. The staple of both of these diets are mostly meats and animal products. The difference in the ketogenic diet and a carnivore based diet is that vegetables and nuts are eaten on the keto diet. A carnivore diet is a diet of strictly animal based products such as meat, raw dairy, and eggs. By eliminating processed foods, you will automatically feel a difference within a day or two of how you feel physically and even mentally.

Also, both of these diets use fats instead of fuel rather than carbohydrates. Fats also known as ketones are the staple of both the keto and carnivore diets. Fats are a much slower burning fuel source than carbohydrates are. Im not sure where I heard this example, but it made sense to me Back in the day before electricity, we used lamps for a light source. We used to light those lamps with whale oil (fat) because it kept the lamp lit over a long period of time. Think of carbohydrates (all carbs are turned into glucose by the body for fuel) as trying to keep that lamp lit by lighting paper. Although it is a form of energy, that paper burns up quick. So fats is a superior energy source than sugars.

Why is this important for weight loss? The longer our food sustains us, the less hungry we are and less we eat throughout the day. We have been trained to think we need to eat 3+ times a day in order to be healthy. This leads to over eating for the normal person. Both the keto diet and the carnivore diet keep us satiated (full) for longer periods of time and also curb our appetites. This leads to eating less food because the food we are eating is actually giving us lots of value of nutrition. Unlike fats, sugars are also severely addicting to our brain. The more carbs we eat, the more our body craves that as a fuel source. So logically, it would be in our best interest to avoid carbohydrates, especially processed ones.

Now, this is not to say that there isn’t other ways to lose weight. Im sure you can google someone losing tons of weight on many different types of diets. But, just because someone loses weight doesn’t mean it’s the healthiest. I believe that both the ketogenic and the carnivore diet are not only the most effective diets to lose weight, but also the healthiest for our bodies as well.

So if you want to lose weight and do it in a healthy way, try the keto or carnivore diet!
